Mortising Chisel Bits

These carbon steel square hole mortising chisel bits feature lengthened cores, sharp cutting edges, and continuous blades for fast, clean cuts in wood. The shaft is precisely milled for straight, secure alignment with no play.

They are designed for square hole and keyhole drilling in mortise and tenon machines, and work well with MDF, particleboard, pine, basswood, and similar wood materials. Do not use them on metal, glass, plastic, concrete, gypsum board, or with handheld or standard electric drills.

Widely Applications - This square hole drill bit is suitable for wood, including MDF, particleboard, channel wood, pinewood, basswood, etc. Note: It is not suitable for processing metal, glass, plastic, concrete, or gypsum board.

Compatibility

Requires a square hole mortising machine. Not for handheld drills or standard electric drills; a drill press requires a separate connecting accessory.

How to use

Step 1: The drill core is sharp. Wear working gloves to avoid direct contact between hands and the drill bit during installation.

Step 2: Place the square drill shell and drill core into the jig of the square tenoning machine, and hold the square hole drill bit in place.

Step 3: Use a 0.5~1mm thick sheet (metal or plastic) and place it at the step of the drill shell. After fixing the drill core, remove the sheet, then adjust the angle of the drill shell to the top to ensure clamping, creating a 0.5~1mm gap between the drill core head and the inner bevel of the drill shell to prevent the bit from jamming during use.
